Asolare, St. John
St. John USVI Restaurants
Spend an evening dining at one of the most beautiful restaurants on St. John, and bring back a night of romantic Caribbean memories. With excellent views, great food and a relaxed atmosphere, Asolare satisfies diners like you with a wonderful island experience.
Even if you have made reservations at Asolare, try arriving ahead of time. You will be promptly escorted to the bar where you can sip delicious drinks and enjoy a stunning view of the sunset over Cruz Bay and the harbor down below. As the sky and water flare up red beneath you and the beautiful British Virgin Islands melt into the distance, move outside to the deck and sit down to a selection of fine wines and sumptuous cuisine that brings together the richness of both Asian and European gastronomy. While the good-looking, smiling staff may take its time in bringing you your meal, it's definitely worth the wait.
The Restaurant
Visitors are often taken aback by the elegance of the Asolare restaurant. With seating outside on the deck, diners can enjoy an amazing view of Cruz Bay lit up in the early evening. You will also enjoy warm tropical breezes coming in from the Caribbean. Indoor guests will take in the exquisite décor of the one-time Island home with curtained dining room and tall bay windows. You will be able to select from a complete menu of delicious, mostly-seafood dishes cooked by a world-class chef. The meal items include specialties from all over the globe, although featuring mostly Asian entrees. Begin your feast with an appetizer, perhaps an order of spring rolls with pork accompanied by sticky white rice and salad made with fresh greens. For the main course, you will be amazed by the Thai shrimp specialty, Pad Thai Noodle Cake, or one of the more western dishes featuring, perhaps, the fillet of beef with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes cooked with roasted garlic. Because most of the ingredients used at Asolare come fresh from the island itself, diners will find that the available selection of savory meals at this restaurant depends on the season. Nevertheless visitors like you are sure to be able to choose from a long list of enjoyable options no matter what time of year you come to dine.
For dessert, try the specialty Pyramid Cake, a delicious hot brownie topped with melting vanilla ice cream. Alternatively, pick from a variety of tasty berry desserts and enjoy the sweet freshness that the island has to offer.
The Lounge
Here at this popular lounge you will sink into a felt cushioned sofa with the true decadence of a plush Caribbean vacationer, relaxing in the luxury of a quaint St. John home turned restaurant/bar. Perched on a hillside, the Asolare allows you and your hip entourage to take advantage of the one of the island's best views.
Enjoy a selection of fine wines and cocktails with mixes from around the world. Found among the creative list of martinis are the usual favorites including cosmopolitans, Manhattans and the like. For the patrons willing to take a brief walk on the wild side, there is a selection of more tropical drink mixes offered.
