Margarita Phil's, St. John

If you are one of the many happy vacationers to St. John who is looking for a good food, tasty drinks - especially Margarita's - and some sort of an all-around quality experience, then head on over to Margarita Phil's, where it seems that just about every night is made of memories and locals and visitors alike can mingle, eat and drink to the rhythm of general good vibrations.

The Scene

That's right, whether you're eating great quality food or sipping on a cold delicious margarita, you won't feel left alone in a place like Margarita Phil's. Try sitting up at the bar just to get a sense of what the locale has to offer. The milieu of beautiful people - both the copper-toned locals and the happy island vacationers - provides a wonderful ambience for the happy beverage imbiber. In fact, the bar itself is my personal place to sit at Margarita Phil's. This is really due to the fact that the service is great and crowd that gathers here is generally quite congenial. In addition to all of this, the bartender him self is a fabulous conversationalist and funny as well. This makes it possible to enjoy your favorite drink or two while hearing the inside scoop on the local stories and gossip of the island. For those who are new to the island, make a bee line to Margarita Phil's.

The Menu

Take part in devouring a delicious meal served from the specialty menu at Margarita Phil's. Loaded with tropical flavor, the dishes here are likely to provide your taste buds with a great and dazzling spice sensation. Try any of the great menu items here that are truly served in the gourmet style of excellent, higher end Mexican cuisine. In fact, the chef back in the kitchen is known to travel frequently to notable resorts and restaurants in Mexico where he actively seeks out the latest innovations and the most gourmet techniques from fellow chefs there - virtual experts in the field of fine Mexican cuisine.

Yet as low brow as it may sound, my personal preference for a favorite dish here would have to be a good old fashioned American style hamburger. They do serve it, although I usually have to make a special request.

The Drinks

Margarita Phil's is famous for its mind bogglingly delicious drinks. While this can be more or less deduced from its luscious name (emphasis on the "Margarita" part of it), the attraction is more about selection, quality and service than it is about anything else. From fresh squeezed island delights to delicious frozen drinks and from shots of the smoothest tequila I've ever tasted to ice cold beer on tap, the bar here at Margarita Phil's is one to be remembered. Try the many different flavors of Margaritas offered here and see for your self what all they hype is about. Not only can you sip the vibrant flavors of strawberry, banana, lemon and more, but the famous Margarita's here come with great company.
