Cruz Bay’s Best New Restaurants
Introducing 3 of the most exciting gastronomical additions
It might be a small town on a small island, but Cruz Bay has more than its fair share of great restaurants. However, that doesn’t mean the locals are standing idle… in fact, brand new eateries pop up in Cruz Bay all the time. So to help you keep abreast of the best places to eat on your trip to the town, here are three top new additions which are hogging the limelight…
First up, there’s Gastrogrub. An excellent gastronomy bar that serves up traditional, tasty English ‘pub grub’ (ranging from Meatloaf Wellington to macaroni cheese), it was originally opened in Tamarind Court in late 2008, but moved in September to the second floor of the more central Marketplace. So it now has a fantastic location to match its excellent cuisine!
Next, there’s Iguana Grill. Offering a great range of hearty Caribbean and American snacks – from corn dogs with battered pickles to blue-cheese burgers and fries – it’s quickly become one of the town’s most popular take-out spots. The bar’s prime location on Centerline Road, right opposite the long-serving island favorite Woody’s Seafood Saloon, is pretty handy too.
Finally, there’s Happy Fish. Although not exactly brand new, the popular sushi restaurant in Starfish Market has recently changed hands… and the difference is incredible. The friendly (if somewhat slower island pace) staff, the extended menu of traditional Japanese dishes and the affordable prices across the board make it one of the nicest non-fried food options of the whole island.
So there you have it – three great new restaurants to try out in Cruz Bay. But don’t forget… new places are opening up, changing hands and altering their menus all the time here, so always keep an eye out for the new additions to the local and international cuisine scene.
